Who or what got you into shooting?:

My dad bought me a .22lr rifle for my 5th birthday and taught me to shoot. On my 30th birthday he gave me my first pistol, which propelled my love for the shooting sport and passion for the outdoors into what it is today.

Do you shoot handguns, shotguns, rifles or all of the above?:

I love shooting pistols, rifles and shotguns, but go through phases of favorites.

Why are you involved with the NRA or how do you support their efforts?:

I love that I am apart of a group that protects my voice and shares the values of our rights.

Tell us about the first gun you owned or your favorite gun.:

My favorites change often; with hunting season right now it's my DPMS LR308.

What's your current go-to gun?:

Springfield XDM 9mm

What's your favorite shooting range or place to hunt?:

My favorite outdoor range is Quail Creek where I enjoy shooting steel at Proactive Defense's tactical bays.

Do you have a favorite accessory or clothing item you won't go shooting or hunting without? What makes it so important?:

I always take my custom molded earplugs. I love them! They fit perfectly and are comfortable for all-day wear.

What's your most unusual gun-related item?:

A small lighter in the shape of an AR-15 I take camping.

What's your best or most memorable moment as it relates to firearms?:

At my first NRA Women on Target clinic I coordinated, I had an 81-year-old lady tell me that was the first time she'd fired a gun and was going immediately to buy one. She said she couldn't go another day without one, she had already missed out on too much fun. I was so excited for her.

I own a gun because:

I own firearms for personal defense to protect my family and to use as a tool in sports shooting.

Tell us the best (or worst) gun advice you've ever been given.:

Best advice I was given was to "not listen to a man tell me what pistol to buy." That came from the man behind the gun sales counter. He told me to buy what fit me and felt right. It hasn't let me down yet!

What's your easiest gun to handle and shoot? Hardest?:

My easiest firearm to shoot is my Ruger SP101 .357 revolver.

What would be your recommendation for best entry-level gun?:

I'd recommend a revolver for an entry-level firearm.

Your ideal shopping trip: the mall or an outdoor outfitter?:

My ideal shopping trip would be an outdoor outfitter.

What do you think is the best home defense — firing or fleeing?:

It would depend on the situation and my surroundings.

Who or what inspires you?:

My dad inspires me, along with the many women I meet daily that share the same passion for shooting and hunting that I do.

What's your favorite holiday? Why?:

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it's all about family, making memories and hunting...deer and Black Friday deals.

What do you do to relax and unwind — watch TV, listen to music, go to movies, catch a game, exercise, something else?:

Lounging at home, curled up on the couch in front of the TV is how I unwind.

Your greatest accomplishment?:

Sharing my love for the outdoors through companies I Prostaff for, women's shooting clinics I coordinate and volunteering with A Girl & A Gun are my greatest accomplishments.
