What is Wounded Warrior?
The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization and its mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. The purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
How did you get involved with Wounded Warrior?
I have a 23-year veteran/medically retired United States Marine Corp at home. He got wounded from multiple IED blasts while deployed in Iraq. I was introduced to the Wounded Warrior Project and got involved with the organization because of him and other wounded warriors to show my support and to let them know that they are not alone in their long journey to recovery.
Who or what inspires you?
All wounded warriors, especially my own, who all continue to show courage and determination to succeed and overcome their own hardships as they fight their own personal war (TBI and PTSD).
Best gun advice you’ve ever been given?
The four weapon safety rules: Treat every weapon as if it were loaded; never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot; keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire; and keep the weapon on safe until you are ready to fire.
