Welcome to the NRA Women's Channel

Presented by Smith & Wesson

NRA Women is designed for female gun enthusiasts. It's a resource for news, education, events and more. And we're telling more stories of empowered women like you. Come explore, connect, celebrate and unite with the women of NRA.

Why are you involved with the NRA or how do you support their efforts?
I support the NRA because they support the youth programs I am involved in.

Tell us about the first gun you owned or your favorite gun.
I am a minor, but my favorite gun is my Christensen Arms, Carbon Fiber .270WSM. I love it because I have harvested most of my animals with it. (deer, elk and bear)

What's your current go-to gun?
My .270WSM is my current go-to hunting rifle. My Beretta xcel is soon to be my favorite competition shotgun.

What's your favorite shooting range or place to hunt?
I love to shoot and compete at the Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico. I like to hunt all over the world. New places are the best.

Do you have a favorite accessory or clothing item you won't go shooting or hunting without? What makes it so important?
I always have to remember my hat so it keeps the sun and my hair out of my eyes.

What's your best or most memorable moment as it relates to firearms?
My most memorable hunt was an elk hunt with my mom in Colorado. We went and it was cold and snowing and we had to ride our horses in before the sun came up. We could hear the bull-elk bugling and the cow-elk chirping. It was just the two of us and we had a lot of fun and my mom and I snuck into the middle of a herd of elk and she called and I shot my elk at about 30 yards. We packed it out on our horses, all by ourselves.

I own a gun because:
My parents own "my" guns because I am a minor. I love to shoot them because I like the focus and accomplishments that come with target shooting and shooting well. I am also proud when I can fill my family's freezer.

Who or what inspires you?
My mom and her friends inspire me. They are encouraging and amazing.
