Who or what got you into shooting?
I always harbored a secret fear about firearms since I was a child. As an adult, I finally decided to confront my apprehension about firearms. I decided that fear is often a result of a lack of information about what you are scared of. So I decided to "educate" myself about firearms and take lessons. I started with handguns and revolvers. I enjoyed it so much it blossomed into rifle lessons, and shortly thereafter going on my first NRA Women On Target sponsored deer hunt. I was hooked at that point, and have developed a healthy respect, love, and passion for target shooting and hunting. I also thank the NRA for being a strong advocate for helping to secure our Second Amendment rights.

Best shooting/hunting memory?
It would have to be my first hog hunt, a guided hunt in the hill country of the central coast of California in a small town called San Miguel. A hunter has to remember, even when he or she does everything right, sometimes things don't turn out perfectly...because as I squeezed the trigger, the hog quartered and moved forward slightly, resulting in a hit out of the desired area for a kill shot. There was a keen sense of urgency to take the second shot, as I do NOT like to have a wounded and hurting animal. I sighted him again, he was perfectly broadside and stationary. We set up as quickly as we could, and I took the second shot, a quick kill shot to the heart and lungs. He was a fairly big boar...two-and-a-half inch cutters and weighed a little over 300 pounds. That experience instilled in me a reverence for the sport and the animal whose life I am taking. It is one of my most memorable experiences.

I own a gun because:
I love target shooting and hunting.

How do you feel about pink guns?
Not for me, but if someone else likes them...why not

Do you go to the range to amp up or chill out?
Chill out, it's a stress reliever

Best gun tip?
Muzzle awareness; always know where your firearm is pointed

Your choice of gun for protection?
Shotgun for home protection

Guns or shoes?
I like your questions!!! But I'd have to say my Winchester Wildcat with a bull barrel and donning a pair of my Lucchese or Old Gringo boots.
