Who or what got you into shooting?
My father was a trap shooter and has always hunted. I enjoyed tagging along with him and my brother to sight in his rifle or just to shoot clays with them. I became involved with handgun shooting when I attended my first Babes with Bullets camp in 2011.
Do you shoot handguns, shotguns, rifles or all of the above?
I shoot USPSA, Steel Challenge and 3-Gun. Occasionally skeet and sporting clays.
Why are you involved with the NRA or how do you support their efforts?
I am an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and I enjoy sharing my passion for shooting with those who are new to firearms.
Tell us about the first gun you owned or your favorite gun.
My first gun was a single shot 20 gauge that I received for Christmas.
What's your current go-to gun?
My current go to gun is my STI Eagle.
What's your favorite shooting range or place to hunt?
Rockcastle Shooting Center is one of my favorites, but locally I enjoy South Kent Sportsmen's Club.
What's your best or most memorable moment as it relates to firearms?
All of the friendships that I have made.
What would be your recommendation for best entry-level gun?
I would recommend that you go to your local gun shop where you would have several choices to find a gun that fits you. A .22 is always a good choice for a starter gun.
Your ideal shopping trip: the mall or an outdoor outfitter?
What do you do to relax and unwind — watch TV, listen to music, go to movies, catch a game, exercise, something else?
When I am not on the range I enjoy spending time hiking with my husband and my dogs.
