Who or what got you into shooting?
At 11, I saved up and bought my first air rifle. At about 13, my dad took me out with his .22 handgun.

First or favorite gun?
First gun (besides my air rifle at age 11): A Soviet semi-automatic rifle, the SKS 7.62 x 39 with a grenade launcher attachment and bayonet.

What is your favorite gun accessory?  Why?
A super comfortable concealed-carry holster

Favorite place to shoot or hunt?
My favorite place to shoot is at Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club. I love the people and the facilities. Plus, there are no restrictions on time between shots. We are an equal opportunity gun club — virtually every caliber is welcome (within the legal limits).

Favorite shooting/hunting apparel?Although there are a few warm days in the summer, here in the Portland, Oregon area it is damp and dreary the majority of the time.  I wouldn't survive without my Under Armour gear. I love that Under Armour has teamed up with The Wounded Warrior Project to raise awareness of our nation’s heroes. And let's be honest, it's hard to beat their "Protect This House" slogan.

Favorite shooting/hunting partner?
My favorite person to shoot with is Gregg Smith. He is my shooting mentor and has taught me so much. I am so grateful for his friendship and guidance on all things in life, not just firearms.

I own a gun because:
I acknowledge and accept that it is MY responsibility to protect my family and myself.

How do you feel about pink guns?
I think people need to stop worrying about the colors of other people's guns. I don't care if people want to paint the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on their guns, the important thing is that people train with, and carry, a firearm. Besides, my goal is to get more women comfortable with and excited about firearms and shooting. If pink guns make shooting more fun for even just one woman (or man for that matter), then I can't argue with that.

Do you go to the range to amp up or chill out?
I go to the range to amp up!

Best gun tip?
Shooting is a perishable skill. Get quality training and practice regularly. Train, train, train.

Your gun of choice for protection?
Mossberg 500 12 gauge Road Blocker

Who or what inspires you?
Joan of Arc, she led the French Army to several victories while only a teenager. My shooting mentor Gregg Smith — his confidence, kindness and wisdom, as well as his continual support, always inspires me to be a better person. Also, all my great followers and readers of my blog, as well as my students.
