Who or what got you into shooting?

My father started taking me hunting when I was about five for squirrel, then deer and turkey. He mentioned to my mother that I was a great shot, so she looked into shooting competitions for me. I started shooting air pistol with 4-H when I was nine, and now I am also shooting free and sport pistol in competitions for USA Shooting and the NRA.

Why are you involved with the NRA or how do you support their efforts?

I work the local gun shows with my family in the NRA and ISRPA booth getting new members. I think it’s important to be involved, informed, and to stand up for our Second Amendment rights.

Tell us about the first gun you owned or your favorite gun.

My favorite gun is my air pistol, but we are looking for a new one to fit my hand better.

What's your current go-to gun?

Probably my .22 Ruger

What's your favorite shooting range or place to hunt?

I love to hunt with my father on a cousin’s property down in Southern Indiana, but I think my favorite shooting range would have to be at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs that I was privileged to be able to shoot at this past April.

Do you have a favorite accessory or clothing item you won't go shooting or hunting without? What makes it so important?

I wear my shooting visor I got at the OTC when I did the Junior Olympic Championships. I put my NRA pin on it too.

What's your best or most memorable moment as it relates to firearms?

The most memorable moment for me would be when we got the invite for me to go to The National Junior Olympics for my air pistol competition. I am working at getting another invite for this next April.

I own a gun because:

I love shooting...and I can!!!

Tell us the best (or worst) gun advice you've ever been given.

My shooting coach goes over the gun safety rules all the time…and these have got to be the most important words of wisdom.

Your ideal shopping trip: the mall or an outdoor outfitter?

I truly enjoy both...but my dad would be more likely to buy me something at the outdoor outfitter!!

What do you think is the best home defense — firing or fleeing?

Firing! Standing your ground, protecting your family and property.

Who or what inspires you?

My coach, Bill Jordan, inspires me. He has given me the best advice and so much support through the six years I have been shooting. And he took a chance on me when I wasn't even old enough to be in the pistol program.

What's your favorite holiday? Why?

Christmas...because I get to be around all of my family!!

Your greatest accomplishment?

I haven't accomplished a lot ....YET....but to be invited to the Junior Olympics...being in the National Honor Society...and earning my Silver Award in Girl Scouts are probably some of the highlights!!!
