Who or what got you into shooting?

My father would take me out quail and dove hunting with him when I was a young girl. My first gun was a .410 shotgun. I recently found out that he would tie a rope to me so he could keep up with me while we were hunting, to keep me from getting lost AND to keep me from falling off a cliff!

Do you shoot handguns, shotguns, rifles or all of the above?

Shotgun is my favorite, and I own a Yildiz 20 gauge and I have a Smith & Wesson AR-15 and soon hope to own a handgun, hopefully a Ruger 9 mm or a .45. I even enjoy shooting BB guns and .22's. My shotgun was in lieu of an engagement ring from my husband so, it is a very special gun indeed!

NRA member since:

Why are you involved with the NRA or how do you support their efforts?

Our Second Amendment Rights IS the MOST important right granted to us in the US Constitution and I support the NRA's mission to help us keep those Rights intact! I hope to become more involved as the 2016 elections come around because it WILL be the most important of my life-time and I feel that ALL of us MUST GET INVOLVED!

Tell us about the first gun you owned or your favorite gun.

My first gun was a .410 gauge shotgun, maker unknown, that my Father gave to me for when I went out bird hunting with him. I was in Junior High School when I started hunting with him, and possibly even younger!

What's your current go-to gun?

If I were in a home defense situation, it would be my shotgun (the ONLY thing that Joe Biden had right). My go-to hunting weapon is my AR-15, contrary to what certain people think, it is my BEST hunting weapon (and accurate, contrary to what some people think!).

What's your favorite shooting range or place to hunt?

My husband's family's 100 years old farm 35 miles NE of Snyder, TX.

Do you have a favorite accessory or clothing item you won't go shooting or hunting without? What makes it so important?

My Emergency Kit, butt pack, really anything to make me more comfortable.

What's your most unusual gun-related item?

My "Super Gun" necklace that opens into a watch!

What's your best or most memorable moment as it relates to firearms?

This is NOT a "fishing story" but, 2 years ago, I shot the head off a turkey at 150 yards with my husband's Mini 14, this was paced off and verified by my husband! My finest shot!

I own a gun because:

What would be your recommendation for best entry-level gun?

A .410 or 20 gauge shotgun, a .223 caliber rifle and a 9mm handgun.

Your ideal shopping trip: the mall or an outdoor outfitter?

Outdoor Outfitter! (duh)

What do you think is the best home defense ‹ firing or fleeing?

FIRING (duh)

Who or what inspires you?

What's your favorite holiday? Why?

If I could afford to go on a holiday, it would be to the coast or to the mountains. I lived in Colorado for 4 years and in Utah and I love skiing and fly fishing as well! I would love to go to the coast to fly fish for sea trout.

What do you do to relax and unwind ‹ watch TV, listen to music, go to movies, catch a game, exercise, something else?

Lie on bed and use my Chromebook, watch TV, read.
